Pre- & post-natal Pilates

strength for pregnancy, and after.

Pilates is an ideal way to make pregnancy and birth more comfortable. With its focus on core stability, the pelvic floor and gentle strengthening, it protects the posture that can easily suffer during pregnancy, and it is extremely safe and beneficial for both mother and baby.

Why it helps

core, pelvic floor, posture.

The focus is strength, particularly for the abdominals and back. Strong abdominals support posture and help during delivery; women who exercise regularly and have stronger abdominals should experience an easier labour and a faster recovery.

Strong pelvic floor muscles support the baby and the organs during pregnancy. After months of support and the event of labour, they become stressed and stretched. Strengthening them before and after birth can help avoid incontinence.

Pilates also helps prevent backache and improves circulation to ease swelling, during pregnancy and after.
